How It All Began...
Following the closing of BF Goodrich in 1986, Payton's Automotive was started as "Payton's Auto Electric" by Doug Payton. In 1991 Doug's business had grown so much that he moved from his personal garage to a five bay building in Miami Oklahoma, his wife Joyce joined him at this time, and in 1995 their youngest son, James came aboard. By 1998 Doug, being comfortable with Joyce and James running things, was ready for a little change and decided to add towing to their business. This became his passion and added even more to their business, by 2001 they had outgrown the five bay building and relocated to 817 D St NE in Miami, just around the corner from their old building. Running a full service automotive shop with eight bays and a 24-hour wrecker service now was keeping everyone on their toes. In 2008 Doug was diagnosed with cancer, he fought hard with the same passion and dedication that began this business and to all who knew him had the joy of witnessing this. In 2009, James and his wife Sari took over Payton's Automotive. Now together, along with Joyce, three daughters and a granddaughter we are striving to share the same passion and dedication with you and our local community that has come to love Doug, Payton's Automotive and all we stand for.
